Synopsis

In 1829 Mendelssohn visited Scotland and wrote: “Today we visited Holyrood, the castle where Mary Stuart lived and loved. The chapel is now roofless. Grass and ivy grow there and at that broken altar where Mary was crowned Queen of Scotland. I believe I have found in that place the beginning of my ‘Scottish Symphony’. Besides and Mendelssohn and Cherubini’s Ouverture of his opéra-comique L’hôtellerie portugaise, this concert launches  Luís Tinoco residence with the world premiere of his Cello Concerto.
